Swartz Creek Hockey
Diane L. Green Photography LLC in Swartz Creek Announces 2009 Senior Model Search Diane L. Green Photography LLC of Swartz Creek my want you. For the first time their photography studio is providing an open senior modeling competition to area high school juniors of the the 2007-2008 school year. Previously the studio had invited only students they knew personally to participate. Diane explains " This year we have had a great deal of interest from parents and seniors about how we choose our models for advertising. While we are local to Swartz Creek and have concentrated our advertising and service on the Swartz Creek community we have had seniors from Grand Blanc, Linden, Bentley, Kearsley, Flushing, Mt. Morris, Durand, Flint, Carmen-Ainsworth and Fenton this year. It was very surprising since we hadn't advertised in any of those areas directly. As we are seeing students from those schools we wanted to include them as well. The idea of a model search just seemed logical. We have had a lot of fun and success photographing this years models at Dow Gardens and Mackinac Island. We have already planned next years locations at Dow Gardens, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Grand Haven and down town Chicago." Students interested in becoming a model for the studio must have parental consent, and submit an application (available at their website) along with one head and shoulder and one full length snap shot. "We are looking for a cross-section of students for our 2009 advertising that represent the many different styles students express today." If you are interested in becoming a senior model for the studio you can visit their website at www.dg-pics.com/seniors.html or contact the studio by phone at 810-496-3498.

Swartz Creek Plays Lapeer East
Swartz Creek vs. Linden Swartz Creek hockey is on. Last Wednesday night November 22nd Swartz Creek faced off against Linden to a packed house at the Iceland Arena on Elms Road. The teams met and it was clear Linden had brought with them the team, fans and the rivalry of the football season. But then again Football is Football and hockey is hockey. And while the Swartz Creek Linden football game may have been a close cliff hanger our hockey team showed Linden what a spread is all about. Right from the start our Swartz Creek Dragons showed their domination of the ice scoring first and then a second goal. Linden was left playing a game of catch up. At the end of the first period the Dragons had established a clear lead with 5 goals answered by Lindens 2. The Second period was an exchange of 3 goals for both the Dragons and the Eagles ending the period at Swartz Creek 8 Linden 5. Fans from both sides cheered their teams on and the rivalry established during the Football season was clear. As the Eagles trailed entering the third period Swartz Creek rallied for 2 more goals answered by 1 from Linden. The final score was a whopping 10 for Swartz Creek and a mere 6 for Linden. The Swartz Creek Dragons had come to breath fire on the ice and dine on roasted Eagles. Considering the score our team served up Eagle rather well. Way to go guys. Great Game. Go Creek.
Swartz Creek Face off Against Dow High School
Swartz Creek Hockey season has started and the team has brought their "A" game to the ice. Wednesday November 15th the Fearless dragons hockey team traveled to Midland Michigan to play Dow High School on the ice. While volumes are written about dragons breathing fire these mystical creatures are said to have both a fire lung and an ice lung and as was evidenced Wednesday night there is no doubt our Dragons hockey team have both. Watching these boys fly around the ice in both offense and defense they proved their speed, determination, and skill. Showing that yet again The Swartz Creek Dragons will be a force to be reconded with again this year. If the change from the big 9 to the metro league is any indication from other sports this year, our hockey team may have just what it takes to go all the way to league champs this year. Wednesday's game started as all hockey games do, in a face off. A quick scramble on the ice and Swartz Creek slipped the puck into the Dow crease in the first 2 minutes of the game. The challenge was on. Dow scrambled to recover but with little avail. While it is normal to watch a power play at the net of the team down a man it was something different to watch as Dow defended their own net with 5 men to our 4. During a game that could best be described as a route Swartz Creek managed to produce 3 goals through 3 periods. As the third period started it looked as though our boys would come away clean but Dow did manage to come up with a fast break away play. This one on one show of speed yielded Dow their 1 and only goal of the night. At the sound of the buzzer Swartz Creek had played their first regular season game and came away victorious. Go Dragons!!!!
