Swartz Creek Girl's Lacrosse Banquet.
The Swartz Creek Girl's Lacrosse teams celebrated the close of their season with a banquet held at the Middle School. After a meal the girls were honored with encouraging words from their coaches and a few inside jokes. While most of the girls on the team received their varsity letters, for one freshman girl her varsity letter in lacrosse marked her third letter in as many sports. Not surprisingly she received her others in track and cross-country. Having watched these girl's on the field it's clear they love to run. While their uniforms may include skirts don't be fooled these girl's are not afraid to mix it up on the field. One look at the stills we shot during a game shows the determination these girls have to battle through the competition and score goals. Just check out the lacrosse page and see what we mean. Diane L. Green Photography LLC in Swartz Creek Announces 2009 Senior Model Search Diane L. Green Photography LLC of Swartz Creek my want you. For the first time their photography studio is providing an open senior modeling competition to area high school juniors of the the 2007-2008 school year. Previously the studio had invited only students they knew personally to participate. Diane explains " This year we have had a great deal of interest from parents and seniors about how we choose our models for advertising. While we are local to Swartz Creek and have concentrated our advertising and service on the Swartz Creek community we have had seniors from Grand Blanc, Linden, Bentley, Kearsley, Flushing, Mt. Morris, Durand, Flint, Carmen-Ainsworth and Fenton this year. It was very surprising since we hadn't advertised in any of those areas directly. As we are seeing students from those schools we wanted to include them as well. The idea of a model search just seemed logical. We have had a lot of fun and success photographing this years models at Dow Gardens and Mackinac Island. We have already planned next years locations at Dow Gardens, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Grand Haven and down town Chicago." Students interested in becoming a model for the studio must have parental consent, and submit an application (available at their website) along with one head and shoulder and one full length snap shot. "We are looking for a cross-section of students for our 2009 advertising that represent the many different styles students express today." If you are interested in becoming a senior model for the studio you can visit their website at www.dg-pics.com/seniors.html or contact the studio by phone at 810-496-3498.
Swartz Creek Lacrosse Girls Lacrosse Season Open. The Swartz Creek Girls Lacrosse season started back in March and is in full swing. This fast paced sport is not for the faint of heart. While the girls may make tossing the small yellow rubber ball back and forth easy hours of practice have gone into these skills. Just running full speed down the field with the ball in the basket of a lacrosse stick is a challenge. Add the need to pass it to a team mate while the opposition is doing all it can to block everything from your path to your line of sight would seem to make this an almost impossible task. But under the guidance of coach Brian Gilbert the girls have honed there skills and mastered this feat. Check the athletic schedule and come see the next girls lacrosse game. Both JV and Varsity levels are offered at Swartz Creek and the girls put on a great competition.
