National Honor Society Inducts New Members.

Monday evening the Swartz Creek high school gym saw the induction of new members to the National Honor Society. As the high school band played the processional, present members and new inductees filed past proud parents, faculty and staff to their seats. Samantha Stiff, current president of Swartz Creek NHS gave the greeting and introduction of the keynote speaker, Ms. Sandy Macut principal of the high school. Ms. Macut's address although short was focused to the new inductees, to evaluate opportunities when presented and continue to follow the fine examples of leadership and achievement NHS students aspire to. Following Ms. Macut's address the traditional candle lighting ceremony was conducted by the officers of NHS, Samantha Stiff - President, Katherine Tylus - Vice-President, Ryann Adams - Secretary and Bethany Witten - Treasurer. The aspects and meaning for each candle were read by the officers before lighting. With the candles lit the moment of induction had arrived as each new inductees name was read and called to the stage to receive their NHS sash and sign the register. Camera flashes clicked off as parents and guests captured the moment their son or daughter was inducted. Following the induction ceremony all members both new and old were called upon the read the pledge of NHS. A short period of refreshments and fellowship was provided in the cafeteria where cake and punch were served. Congratulations goes to Swartz Creeks newest members of National Honor Society.

Swartz Creek Soccer Team Scores Win Over Fenton.

No doubt Swartz Creek Soccer has a strong program this year. In a recent matching against the Fenton Tigers the boy's Varsity soccer team showed they have what it takes to win. With a final score of Swartz Creek 3 Fenton Tigers 2, the Creek team showed a unified desire to win. The blend of athletic ability, fine coaching, and a strategy of play all combined to deliver this team they victory they sought. Our cameras were on hand to capture of few of the highlights of the game. Well done Dragons!

Diane L. Green Photography LLC in Swartz Creek Announces 2009 Senior Model Search

Diane L. Green Photography LLC of Swartz Creek my want you. For the first time their photography studio is providing an open senior modeling competition to area high school juniors of the 2007-2008 school year. Previously the studio had invited only students they knew personally to participate. Diane explains " This year we have had a great deal of interest from parents and seniors about how we choose our models for advertising. While we are local to Swartz Creek and have concentrated our advertising and service on the Swartz Creek community we have had seniors from Grand Blanc, Linden, Bentley, Kearsley, Flushing, Mt. Morris, Durand, Flint, Carmen-Ainsworth and Fenton this year. It was very surprising since we hadn't advertised in any of those areas directly. As we are seeing students from those schools we wanted to include them as well. The idea of a model search just seemed logical. We have had a lot of fun and success photographing this years models at Dow Gardens and Mackinac Island. We have already planned next years locations at Dow Gardens, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Grand Haven and down town Chicago."  Students interested in becoming a model for the studio must have parental consent, and submit an application (available at their website) along with one head and shoulder and one full length snap shot. "We are looking for a cross-section of students for our 2009 advertising that represent the many different styles students express today." If you are interested in becoming a senior model for the studio you can visit their website at www.dg-pics.com/seniors.html or contact the studio by phone at 810-496-3498.
